The Board of Directors for a nonprofit organization must periodically perform a self evaluation to ensure that members are informed, engaged and effectively performing their duties. Does the Board of Directors regularly evaluate progress towards strategic goals? Are all the members clear on the organization’s mission and focus? When approving policy changes, is the assistance of qualified professionals being sought out? The Nonprofit Chamber of Service “Night School” for Boards session entitled, “Board Self Evaluation,” will include what should be included in a board self evaluation, how often they are needed, and how to analyze the data afterward.
